How to seal a garage door to prevent dust?

Hello Team, I'm seeking advice on the most effective method for sealing my garage door to prevent dust infiltration.

I am attaching garage door pics showing openings on both the sides.

Re: Garage Door Sealing

Hi @RK07,

It would be difficult to seal the small gap between the door panels and the brick wall. As this is a moving mechanism, there must be a small gap to allow it to function correctly. There is a possibility of using Moroday Silver Angled Brush Garage Door Seals in this location. An easier option might be to use timber to cap off the side of the garage door frame between it and the wall. This would enclose the side of the door and help prevent dust from entering the garage.

Are you using the area as a garage, or do you have plans to turn it into a bedroom?

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Mitchell

Re: Garage Door Sealing

HI @MitchellMc  Thank you for your reply.

I will be using it as a garage only and occasionally as a gym. I want to keep it dust-free and clean.

Re: Garage Door Sealing

@MitchellMc  @Jason One question, will this (Moroday Silver Angled Brush Garage Door Seals) be attached to the brick wall, right? I've never screwed into a brick wall before. Could you please let me know what type of screws should be used for drilling into bricks and if there's a specific drill machine required?

Re: How to seal a garage door to prevent dust?

Hello @RK07

I suggest using a drill with a hammer function. This type of drill designed to drill into brick and other masonry products. I recommend using a masonry bit in combination with Ramset 8 x 50mm Universal Anchor - 20 Pack. The masonry bit will allow you to drill into the brick and the Ramset universal anchor will allow you to attach things on the brick wall.

I've done a quick render on how you can cover the garage rail assembly with timber all the way to the brick wall. Please have a look and tell me what you think.

If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.

Eric
