How to repair a stone mailbox?

I've noticed that our stone mailbox has some issues, specifically:

Disjointed Stones:

Issue: The mailbox is off its joints in two places.
Broken Opening Lid:

Issue: The lid is broken.

Images attached for quick reference.

I am seeking opinion on the best materials to use for rejoining the stones together. Additionally, I'd appreciate suggestions on what could be a suitable replacement for the lid. If you believe it's more practical, I'm open to the idea of replacing the entire mailbox with a standard one.

PS: This beast is quite heavy.

Thanks,

Re: Stone Mailbox repair

Hi @rohitbudhiraja

I recommend  cleaning stone with stiff broom so no loose particals and glueing the stone back together with

Sika 310ml Sandstone Sikaflex Pro+ Polyurethane Sealant  I/N: 0083589  $23.22

This stuff literally glues prefab concrete wall  slabs together it is strong and flexable apply it to both surfaces and support it  24 hours if it needs it.

Your letter box prespex door can  be remade  from

Suntuf 900 x 600 3mm Flat White Acrylic Sheet I/N: 1010493 $76.01

You might be able to get a cheaper  piece smaller on ebay.  Cut perspex with metal cutting disk on angle  grinder to prevent splintering as angle grinder melts the perspex as it cuts so where long sleeves and googles.

Polish any scratches out  with brasso  and clean rag. You can  bend and shape pespex with the carefull use of a heat gun at need but is a practiced skill.

Keep your stone letter box the new  ones never as good.
