How to fit hotplates on Jumbuck Stardom II 4 burner BBQ?

I've nearly finished assembling the BBQ, I'm up to putting the hot plates in and they don't seem to fit properly. How do I fix this?

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your Jumbuck BBQ.

Would it be possible for you to please post a photo of the hot plate installed and not installed? This will give our members a chance to assess the BBQ plate and why it's not sitting properly. We can then make recommendations on how to proceed.

If you will indulge me, I would also like to suggest some troubleshooting steps. Have you double checked the assembly of the front and rear panel that holds the hotplate in place? Have you tried changing positions and turning the hot plate clockwise?

If everything is as it should be, we'll need to see the photo to find out what's going on.
