Painted dresser - reclaimed and transformed

221.jpg

We found an old, heavily stained and painted dresser on the side of the road and decided to flip it. We spent hours stripping the old layers of paint and stain before sanding it back. We painted the frame a deep black but kept the drawers sanded back when it revealed the most amazing timber beneath!

Drawers were clear coated and we made the handles out of painted dowel.

Re: Painted dresser - reclaimed and transformed

Hello @lballs

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's magnificent to have you join us, and thank you for sharing your upcycled dresser project.

What a beautiful transformation from a plain white cabinet to a rich textured drawer set. Can you please tell us some of the steps you took to change the look of the cabinet? Did you totally remove all the paint or did you only do it for the drawer fronts? What kind of clear sealer did you use on the timber drawer fronts?

Any other information you can share about your upcycling method would be very much appreciated.

Again, thank you for sharing such a wonderful upcycled dresser.

Eric
