Re: How to sound proof the wall between two bedrooms in a rental?

Hello @Christina2

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's fantastic to have you join us, and thank you for sharing your question about soundproofing your room.

I suggest having a quick look at this guide - How to soundproof your home by @Adam_W. There might be some tips and techniques you can use in the guide to reduce the ambient noise coming from the other room.

There are a few methods you can use to reduce the sound coming from the other rooms. First is to install Acoustic Pinboard Panels. It absorbs sound and can be easily mounted. Another way is to build a light timber frame and temporarily mount it on your wall. The frame is meant to hold the Earthwool R2.5 90 x 430 x 1160mm 7.0m² HD Insulation SoundShield Wall Batt - 14 Pack. The third option is to use a Wrap & Move 1.8 x 3.2m Premium Moving Blanket as an acoustic blanket. It must be mounted at least 50mm from your wall so that there is a gap between the wall and the blanket.

Unfortunately, all three methods will not look pretty in your room, but they will reduce the amount of noise coming from the other side.

Let me call on our experienced members @Adam_W, @redbournreno, @diy_hausdesigns and @lifestylebymari for their recommendations.

If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.
