Do you need to treat cut ends of H3 treated pine?

Hello, I’m building a leanto and I’m using H3 treated pine for the floor joists, because I need to cut the timber to size do I have to treat the cut ends. The floor joists will sit on treated sleeper skids so the floor is not in direct contact with the ground. Any help is appreciated thank you Kylie

Re: Cutting H3 treated pine

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Kylie72. It's terrific to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about sealing cut treated Pine.

It would be best to re-treat the cut ends, and this can be simply done by spraying them with TWA Woodcare 300g Ecoseal Tanalised Timber Treatment. This will return their H3 rating and ensure that the cut ends aren't susceptible to decay.

Your lean-to sounds like a neat project, so feel free to share it with the community.

Please let me know if you have further questions.

Mitchell
