Building this outdoor kitchen provided more room for gathering with friends and family and a great place to cook.

The project

This outdoor kitchen has given us a whole new room outside.

The rangehoods sit 650mm above the barbecue and stove. Any higher than that and it won't extract properly, and any lower than that can be problematic.

This is stunning/awesome.

Did you make the cabinets from scratch?

Could you give a few tips on how to copy/make them?

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Smitty64au. It's fabulous to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about this sensational project.

Let me mention @Christos to see if they can answer your questions.

There appear to be a few custom elements in there, but the cupboard doors look to be manufactured. Perhaps you might like to start a discussion and tell our helpful members a little more about what you'd like to create. I trust they'll be more than happy to provide guidance and ideas for your project. Remember to include as much information as possible, including a sketch of the cupboards you need, measurements of the space, the tools you have available and your D.I.Y. experience. That will help us tailor the information to suit your needs.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

@Smitty64au,

I used cabinets and doors from Kaboodle range available off the shelf in Bunnings. The smaller cabinets under the BBQ are overhead cabinets and I used the plastic adjustable legs to raise and level under all of them.

For the sides and tops I used hardwood timber benchtops from Bunnings as well and stained them with a semigloss finish.

I have now sprayed the glass panel doors with a frosted Finnish so items can't be seen....looks much better, sort of hides the mess behind:)

CAUTION: the cabinets are not weather or water proof, so you need to make sure it gets no exposure to water.
