How to prepare your outdoor area for a party?

With spring in full swing, many of us are planning to host some delightful get-togethers in our outdoor areas.

Whether you're firing up the barbecue in your backyard, cleaning your deck or organising a pool party, there are many ways to get your outdoor areas ready for entertaining friends and family. These outdoor entertaining makeovers are perfect for those looking for cost-effective ideas. The Bunnings team has also shared a guide on Everything you need to know to host an outdoor dinner party, which includes tips on choosing lighting for your outdoor entertaining area.

Do you have any go-to tips or cool D.I.Y. projects that you've found make a big difference when it comes to creating a fun and memorable outdoor gathering?

Keen to hear your ideas! Tagging @buildwithroneth, @Benjie91@prettyliving@lifestylebymari and @diy_hausdesigns to kickstart the discussion.

Re: How to prepare your outdoor area for a party?

Hi @Akanksha,

We have an outdoor party coming up this November and we have plenty on our list to prep for it!

  • Building a planter box with seating for our fire pit area. We will be adding some soft solar lights to highlight the plants to have a nice glow when the fire pit is not in use. Inspired by Fire pit entertaining area with seating and planter boxes by @raymond265
  • Got to get our deck looking sharp too - thank you @Adam_W as we will be following your article How to restore a deck
  • We will also be attempting to build a high-top bar table with cooler inserts for ice to keep our guests' drinks nice and cool inspired by D.I.Y. outdoor table with drinks cooler
  • Lawn games to help spark conversations between new friends
  • Op shopping for plates and cake holders for all the delicious treats to be displayed.

Excited to share with the community what we will be creating!
