How to replace kitchen sink mixer with pullout tap?

I am trying to replace current kitchen sink mixer with a new pullout tap. I cannot find where to shut off the hot and cold water under the sink.

I have a parallel one with a single inlet and it is going to dishwasher. What am I supposed to do?

Re: Reinstalling a kitchen pullout sink mixer

Hi @mushi

best bet is to turn off water to house at the connection to the property usually where the water meter is.  and open a low bath tub hot and cold water so water drains a little so you can work with out a  minor flood.

Good  going on install.

Re: How to replace kitchen sink mixer with pullout tap?

Hello @mushi

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's wonderful to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about turning off the hot and cold tap.

It's great that you've received excellent advice from @Jewelleryrescue. If there is no shut off taps near the hot and cold lines, it will need to be turned off from your mains at the front of the house. I suggest having a look at this guide -How to replace a tap washer. You'll see a picture in step one that shows a water meter and shut off valve.

Please remember to turn on the cold tap to make sure that the water has been shut off.

Please note that it might be necessary to engage a licensed plumber to complete this work. If in doubt consult your local building authority before starting.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Eric
