Are these the shower recess walls or higher up above a tile line? Typically you'd paint walls surrounding a shower recess with an oil-based enamel paint. It's slightly more durable than water-based paint. You could use the Zinsser product for your purposes, but it's designed to go onto a masonry wall. It can go over previously painted surfaces, but removing the paint or roughing it up before applying the Zinnser product is advised.
