How to connect washing machine drain pipe?

Hi, I got a front loader washing machine and I want to see if I can fit the drain pipe of the machine into the nipples under the sink.

The nipples seem to be open and is closed by a plug which can be taken out.

If we can fit the pipe in using a hose clamp, can you please suggest which clamp should I be using?

Please see the attached photos too for reference.

Re: Can we fit washing machine drain pipe in the undersink nipple?

Hi @pikesh

I suggest that you use a stainless steel clamp, such as the one in the link below.  They come in various sizes, so measure the diameter of the hose and add a bit, so it will slide over & then will clamp down onto the hose. Don't over tighten it or you could tear through the side of the hose. There won't be any water pressure there, so it just needs enough clamping to stop any leaks and prevent the hose slipping off.

(The pipe from the machine goes over the outside of the nipple, not into it.)

Hello @pikesh

That's a spot-on recommendation by @TedBear. I suggest following his detailed fitting instructions to avoid damaging the plastic nipple on the S trap.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.
