A new way to share projects on Workshop

Bunnings Workshop community members are always encouraged to share their home improvement projects with the community. It's hugely inspiring to see the clever and creative ways our members enhance their homes and gardens.

We know it can take a bit of courage to share (especially if you are a beginner) but we have an incredibly encouraging and supportive community who love seeing new projects great and small.

In our annual member surveys, the majority of members say they have been so inspired by other members on Workshop that they have started new projects based on what they have seen other community members have done.

However, members also often tell us they don’t always get the detail they need in order to replicate the projects they see on Workshop. And those sharing projects sometimes say they don’t always find it easy to share their handiwork on the site.

We’re trying to improve that.

Today we have launched a new way to share your projects with other members. Click on "Share a Project" at the top of the screen and you will get taken to a new project sharing template you can use to share completed projects with other Workshop members.

When using the template you wi’ll be guided through a number of sections: creating a title, adding a hero image, adding tools and materials, detailing the steps you took, and finally adding labels so others can find your project.

We hope you find the template easier to use than the previous blank slate, and that you like how your projects are presented. Please give it a try and let us know what you think.

You can reach out to me at any time via private message if you ever need a hand using the site or have any feedback. We’d love to hear from you.

Hi @mich1972,

You have a draft on your member profile page called DIY Chicken Feeder that you have saved but not published. You can hit Save draft to save as you go, but need to hit Post to share with the community.

Feel free to reach out if you ever have any trouble.

Just had a look at the Template.

It looks like it will lead to much better and more consistent presentations of our projects than the blank page method did.

Having guidance is less scary too, when we don't know what we're doing on, or to, your website.
