Repairing a lockable lever handle

I just learnt a very important lesson!

If, for whatever reason your lockable lever style bedroom door handle fails to open then taking off the handle when no one is on the other side of the door is a very very bad idea.
Any advise on what I should of done? The best way to describe the issue is that handle was turning but latch was staying firm.

Re: Repairing a lockable lever handle

Which side of the door are you currently on @Juliapinkiepie? Should we send help, or at least some food and water?!

Re: Repairing a lockable lever handle

I was on the wrong side of a buggered door handle @Kermit lol.
The deaf 85yr old wasn't much help and discovering my bedroom windows don't actually open really didn't help.
An hour of banging was finally enough to wake the deaf :cheeky:

Glad to hear you are safe @Juliapinkiepie

Next question is do you know what brand/type of door furniture it is? You might be able to find documentation online if its a reputable product.
