Painting a laminate floor

Anyone got an experience painting an old laminate floor? Google suggests it can be done but not sure on how it will look in the medium-long term...It's only a laundry and already very scratched and worn so I'm tempted to just give it a go.

@Barker, I wouldn't do it, regardless of what flooring base is in your laundry, wood or concrete. Laid properly, the laminate would have an underlay, which would be slightly flexible/compressable, & any paint finish that you apply would crack where the planks meet, in the line of traffic.

If it's within your budget & capabilities, I'd recommend taking up the laminate & underlay, then DIY tile the laundry using flex grout.

+1 for tiles as much as I am trying to avoid being a 3rd generation tiler.

Tiles in the bathroom and laundry have been down 35 years now and the tiles are as good as new but the grout could do with a clean up.
