Homemade mailbox

Anyone built their own mailbox? I'm thinking it would be a fun project. I Googled for some inspiration and there was some strange, amusing and creative examples.

Re: Homemade mailbox

I need a Canine home letterbox, I think my kids would rather do it though.

What recycling material would you suggest for a canine idea for a fancy letterbox for my new home?

Re: Homemade mailbox

Hi @K9

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's wonderful to have you join us, and thank you for sharing your question about making a canine letterbox.

The most common recycled material you can use is heat treated timber pallets. To extend its lifespan out in the open, I highly recommend painting it with several coats of paint. However, if you wish for the mailbox to last even longer, I strongly recommend using marine plywood.

Would you happen to have a sketch of how you would like to build the canine mailbox? I'm sure our members would love to see your design for it.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Eric
