Strengthening a shoe rack

Decided to build a custom shoe rack to fit the space we have. Everything came out well however it’s not very firm as it sway left to right easily when it’s touched. Do you think I should add more firm shelves or fix a sheet to the back? Or is there anything else I can do to make it firm

Re: Help with shoe rack

@Kevin92 Hi mate and nice job on the shoe rack. This has given me an idea for my mrs shoes in our tight space.

If it is swaying then yeah try fixing a back board and then fixing either the back or the side to the wall and hopefully this will lock it in

Re: Help with shoe rack

I assume there's a wall on the right hand side? Can you attach the rack to the wall @Kevin92?

Re: Help with shoe rack

I’m wondering if I can do something else other than attaching to the wall. Trying to go ahead with a backboard.

Re: Help with shoe rack

Backboard will help sturdy it up. You may not need to make it the file length. Three shorter sections would work if you've got done of cuts you want to use up. Just remember to make sure its all level before attaching them.
Couple of internal 90' brackets at the to and bottom will also help

Re: Help with shoe rack

@woodalwaysworksAwesome! Thank you so much! Will be fixing it over the weekend. Will keep youll posted.

Re: Help with shoe rack

@LePallet @woodalwaysworks The backboard worked like a charm! It’s perfectly steady now and there’s no need to attach it to the wall.
