Repair plaster after restumping

My house has now been restumped, I some cracking, around brick fireplace/mantle & corners of some windows are worst. Wondering how to go about this repair job, guess it will be a bit messy, have a little bit of idea but maybe there are a few tips to make the job easier!

Good luck with the repairs @Helen.

I'm sure Workshop members will have some great tips for you.

The following video should also be helpful.

It would be good if you could share some photos of what you are up against @Helen

@Jason How is that video helpful, when the severity of the problem isn't know... Just Curious

@Helen.. What does that mean?
First you need to determine if the cracks are Structural or Non-structural in nature as @AHoy said ".. you could share some photos?"
Otherwise people that can assist will ignore your post..sorry to be blunt
As an Engineer I look at 100's of photos a week..save clients $1000's
If there is an urgent need I'll advise you accordingly, ie approx. fix, time involved and the cost,etc,etc
