Blueberry Bush

Hi All

My 9 year old loves blueberries, and I see that Bunnings sells a "Blueberry Burst" (Vaccinium spp) has anyone had any experience with these?

TIA

maybe helpful

As far as I can tell it is a fairly new dwarf hybrid.

Re: Blueberry Bush

I'm also keen to hear tips for growing blueberries. I love them but they are so expensive to buy. I've tried growing them once before but the bush never really got going. I think something was eating the leaves. I want to try again.

Re: Blueberry Bush

I have grown Youngberries on a trellis till my mother manage to kill them.

I think they are best in pots to try to stop them spreading.
Mine never had the full Adelaide sun, they should be able to take it in colder areas, would do better with some shade in tropical areas.
Birds love them.
I never found insect pests to be much of a problem if they are garlic spray might be enough to get rid of them.

Re: Blueberry Bush

@Isobel  I agree!   The price of blueberries is insane!  I ended up buying two plants from my local Bunnings.

@Brad  Thanks for potting tips.  I bought two pots and have used azalea potting mix as per the information card.

Fingers crossed I can save some money with these
