Attack of the Mealey Bugs...

Hoping someone can help me/wifey out with this one. We have a bit of a Mealey Bug problem. Any suggestions on how to get rid of them?

We've tried Confidor and washing the roots but can't seem to get rid of the cheeky buggers.

Any truth to putting soapy water in the soil?

Re: Attack of the Mealey Bugs...

Confidor is the right product to use on mealybugs @ProjectPete. As with other scale inspects, you can also try a soap or dishwashing liquid to suffocate them. But they are always easier to control if you get them early before a full-blown outbreak. Can you tell us a bit more? How many times have you applied Confidor? What plant are you spraying it on?

What do mealey bugs look like?

Re: Attack of the Mealey Bugs...

Sorry for delayed response. Weve applied it a few times and to several plants including a creeper and some succulents. Ive juat disposed of the infected plants, am cleaning out their pots, keeping a close eye on remaining plants and will kind of start over and see if that helps.
