Hi - Just wondering if you have a workshop where customers can make these amazing bridges?

Cheers

Re: Garden bridge made from Bunnings fence palings.

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @SandraUren. Many thanks for your question, I'd be happy to assist.

It's fantastic to have you join us and great to see you jump straight into the conversation. This amazing creation was built and designed by the very talented community member @Poppop. There is no current workshop within stores which would cover making something like this, but I will pass on your feedback to our community involvement team. I'm sure @Poppop and our other very helpful community members would be more than happy to assist you if you wished to build one yourself.

We look forward to hearing about what projects you have going on around your house and garden and encourage you to let us know if you need assistance or have something to share with the community.

Please let us know if you need any advice or had questions about building your own garden bridge.

Mitchell

Re: Garden bridge made from Bunnings fence palings.

Hi @SandraUren. These bridges are fairly simple to build if you have basic hand tools like a drill and jigsaw or some way to cut an arch for the base boards. (Although i have also made flat garden bridges). If you are interested in giving it a try im happy to make some drawings of a plan for you to follow. Also if you are on facebook i have a page where i post up all the things i make. Just search for "Driftwood designs Yeppoon."

Hi Poppop,

I just love this small bridge design, the one pictured with the candle tealights.  Would you possibly have some plans for this bridge?

I tried searching for you on facebook but could not locate you under that name, it seemed to bring up a different business.

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @AllyLane. It's wonderful to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about the fantastic project.

Let me mention @Poppop to see if he can assist. In the meantime, I've created a rendering of the project (as best as I can tell) to give you an idea of how it could go together. It looks like once you cut your arc into the 140 x 35mm Outdoor Framing MGP10 H3 Treated Pine is just a matter of cladding the top with pailings.

Please let me know if you have any questions, as I'd be happy to assist you with the build.

Re: Garden bridge made from Bunnings fence palings.

Hi @AllyLane ,

I made lots of these for local customers. Usually custom made to the requested size and almost always made with fence palings.  The images and description from @MitchellMc has pretty well summed it up, except i used palings for the arches. On the arched support boards I hand drew the arch and cut it out with a jigsaw. For the bridges that had the upright posts with the tealight holders I would over lap the tread boards on the support boards up to the thickness of the paling. Then on the tread board where the tealight post would be I'd cut that one flush with the support board so when the post was attached it would sit flush with the treads either side of it. If you have a close look at the original photo you'll see what i mean.

My Facebook page was called Driftwood designs Yeppoon. I have archived the page as I have returned to work and am no longer taking orders. But I think you can still view the photos.

Re: Garden bridge made from Bunnings fence palings.

Thank you so much @Poppop for the information and thanks @MitchellMc for those drawings!

This is very helpful info. I am so stoked to get a reply so quickly! Now that school is back I have time to myself and my beautiful Bosch mitre saw (her name is Gladys) misses me terribly. It's been a long school holiday!

I'll keep you posted as to how it turns out
