Plenty of storage options allow you to keep your house clean and tidy, plus help ensure that you can quickly and easily find what you need.

 

Fortunately, it can be easy to create new storage options that are not only practical but also stylish additions to your house.

This very clever storage solution for cordless drills has been a consistently popular project on Workshop. Keen woodworker Wayne also made a second version earlier this year.

 

2. Custom garage storage by @boris

 

Although we haven’t seen the end result, this custom garage storage solution has inspired many Workshop visitors and members alike. An organised, clutter-free garage is obviously a popular goal.

 

3. New shed storage project by @Tara86

 

Another terrific example of what can be achieved to create customised storage and an accessible working area even with relatively limited space. The portable workbench is a particularly smart idea, and the discussion also includes great storage ideas from other community members like @Rolando.

Looking for a quick and cheap storage solution, KGriff1 recycled a pallet into a fantastic shelf to store wine, books and potted succulents. All that was needed was some extra MDF and some sanding work.

Using lengths of cheap pine that were painted then “distressed” by sanding back, these D.I.Y. shelves also feature scaffolding joints. Creator Rob describes the look as “punky, industrial, vintage and playful”.

Who would have thought you could turn toilet paper storage into a work of art? This creative and striking feature enlivens the smallest room in the house and has been much admired.

Playfully dubbed “the Blackbeard”, this large toy chest was built to last from recycled pallet timber and can store a large collection of playthings.
