Re: Rain water tap leaking

Hello @wickham94

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your garden tap.

Please note that it might be necessary to engage a licensed plumber to complete this work. If in doubt consult your local building authority before you begin.

It sounds like the vacuum seal has totally deteriorated. Unfortunately, most vacuum seals are permanently mounted to garden taps and can't be removed or replaced. Your plumber might use the Brasshards 15mm T Head Hose Tap with Vacuum Breaker as a replacement.

Please note that it might be necessary to use a Brasshards 15mm Brass Threaded Hexagon Socket to convert the fitting into female. Make sure to use thread seal on all brass threaded fittings.

There is also the option of replacing both items separately. For the tap I suggest using the Kinetic 15mm Brass Female Garden Tap along with the Brasshards 20mm Vacuum Breaker - Suits 15mm Hose Taps

If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.

Eric
